With an output of 6.4 kW (8.7 hp), the STIHL MS 881 not only has the most powerful STIHL 2-MIX engine of all STIHL chainsaws, it is also the most powerful series-produced chainsaw in the world. For forestry workers and professionals in sawmills, we have developed this petrol chainsaw to provide reliable and effective support for felling, cross-cutting and rip sawing.
Even starting the STIHL MS 881 petrol chainsaw should be as effortless as possible. This is why the decompression valve and the STIHL ElastoStart make starting noticeably easier. The single-lever control allows you to operate all functions with just one hand. This keeps your right hand on the handle at all times. The STIHL anti-vibration system effectively reduces vibrations at the handle points. This is easy on your muscles and joints.
The HD2 air filter made of polyethylene filters even very fine dust and thus keeps any dirt away from the engine. The filter can be cleaned and replaced effectively and without tools. To prevent possible hand contact with the saw chain or the claw stop, the tensioning screw for the chain tensioner is located on the side. If you want to stop the chainsaw, simply press a button thanks to the stop button. As soon as the chainsaw is stopped, it is automatically moved to the start position so that you can start the STIHL MS 881 chainsaw again immediately.
